It is official! Last week we received our Certificate of Occupancy just in time for our school's Art Gala fundraiser night. (Click here to see photos from this fun event!)
Renovations to the sanctuary are still underway, but are due to be completed in time for the church's dedication service for the new building on March 29th. (UPDATE: Unfortunately we have cancelled this event for the safety of our families and to respect social distancing due to COVID-19.)
The classroom shuffle will happen during Spring Break. The first day back will be an exciting day for our students and their parents, as the additional space has been greatly anticipated and needed throughout this school year.
THANK YOU to Don Savill for your dedication and hard work in seeing us through this process. To our church members for your financial support. To our school families for your patience. And to our building committee for your time and energy throughout the entire Building Expansion Project!
Praise the Lord with us as we see our building project come to a close!
We are checking things off the list as we count down to the completion of the new building!
Our new church entrance is coming together with beautiful new doors and custom brick pavers.
The floors have made such an incredible difference in feeling like we are so close to being able to use our new classrooms!
Sod has been laid, new bushes put in, and many, many trees planted around the perimeter. Thankful for how God's creation brings so much beauty to our campus.
The finishing touches are underway! As we see each item on the checklist completed, we know that we are one step closer to finishing our Building Expansion Project.
Stay tuned for information regarding our Dedication Sunday event.
Soon we will be saying "good night" to our building project and "good morning" to our first day in our new building!
It is exciting to see the new classrooms coming to life! Fresh paint is going up on the walls this week; flooring is scheduled to be installed before Christmas. Deadlines are in place with subcontractors, and we have been given a new closing date for mid-January. So much to look forward to as we go into the new year!
Our students are excited as well. They helped create these paper ornaments to draw attention to our need to raise funds for the finishing touches to their classrooms and to create an exceptional school experience for each student.
Any money raised will go to the following categories:
Sponsor a Student
Sponsor a Curriculum
Sponsor a Classroom
If you are able to help, please send or drop off donations to the school office soon. Cash or Check accepted. Thank you for your continual support of our students, our families, our staff, and our classrooms!
"This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God." 2 Corinthians 9:12
In this season of Thanksgiving, we intentionally count our blessings. Drywall is going up! Painting is in progress! Our move-in date has been pushed back due to unforeseen delays, but our attitude remains positive and grateful. God continues to provide for us, and our students remain excited and patient for their new classrooms.
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances;
for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Stay tuned to learn about how you can help us outfit the building and make finishing touches on our new classrooms!
Progress continues with the building expansion project at Crown of Life! Once the roof went on, work moved forward with installing the HVAC system. This past weekend, we were able to see the windows go in and are excited by all of the natural light they will bring to our new classrooms! As soon as the entire building is enclosed, the air will come on, and the fun work will be done in transforming this large space into classrooms, church rooms, art closets, and more!
Updates to follow as we continue to see this space come to life!
The exterior walls have gone up! It's very exciting to see a glimpse of what the finished project will look like. And even more exciting knowing that a Christ-centered education will be provided within these walls!
Summer break is half way over and the building won't be completed by the first day of school, but we are thankful that our growing classrooms will have a place to expand into for the 2019-2020 school year!
Progress continues with our Building Expansion Project, even though it is not quite as obvious and exciting as demolition. Without much to see above ground, progress is being made below ground. Building pad preparation and underground utilities are being put into place. The laying of the foundation has begun!
As a Christ-centered school, this foundation brings us incredible joy! Not only for knowing what will be built upon it, but also as a reminder of the foundation of our faith. Christ is our Cornerstone, our Rock, our Salvation. Jesus told us in Luke 6...
"As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built."
This is our desire for everyone who will walk the halls of our new building that they will know the secure footing that is available for them with a foundation of Christ. Join us in prayer for the construction workers, for the church members who sacrifice and support the project, and for the students and their families who will enter into this new place. True joy is found in a secure Foundation!
This morning Crown of Life Lutheran Church ended service with a groundbreaking for the new addition that will connect our church and school buildings. It was a joyous occasion to come together to ask God for His blessing as we set apart this ground for the building expansion and His glory.
We pray that God will be glorified in this place and that the gospel will continue to be shared throughout our community.
Thank you to our church and school leaders for your love and dedication, and thank you to all of our Crown of Life families for your continual support. We are so blessed!
Week one of the building expansion project came with dramatic changes as we watched the demolition of our old fellowship hall. Clean up continued into week two, and then progress moved from the excitement of demo to the importance of support structures. The church's current narthex will be removed but the movement of a/c units and the need for support structures are being worked on in preparation for continual dismantling. A new narthex will later be constructed to connect the church sanctuary to the new addition to the school.
With all of these changes, Wednesday's school chapel and Sunday services are now taking place in the school's gym.
Groundbreaking is planned for this coming Sunday, May 19th during the 9am service. Join us as we celebrate God's provisions and the upcoming construction of our new building!
The first of May brought a lot of excitement to Crown of Life! All school year, we have been waiting with much anticipation to start construction on our building expansion project. We are adding approximately 7000 square feet between the school building and the church sanctuary. The new addition will host 4 classrooms, bathrooms, and a large entryway, plus additional rooms for Sunday mornings.
This week our permits came through, a construction office was delivered, and the site was fenced off for our safety. On May 2nd, demolition began! The old fellowship hall was removed, as well as the covered walkway between our three buildings. Our students are filled with excitement as they watch through our glass front doors, which have become a perfect viewing area.
Praise the Lord with us as we thank Him for His continual provision and the growth of Crown of Life Christian Academy!
