Thank you to all who participated in our Grand Event Book Fair! We doubled our sales goal and our classroom libraries will benefit from your purchases. What a blessing!
Our Grand Event was created intentionally for our students to invite their grandparents, or other special people in their lives, to join them on a Saturday morning for stories, games, crafts, coffee, pastries, and of course, books! We turned our gym into a city park with light posts, trees, flowers, and game and picnic tables. The students were a great help in this transformation!
The week prior, our students had fun being a part of the preparations. The entire school colored paper flowers and our 3rd through 6th graders used them to make a mural along the entire wall of our big room. It turned out beautiful!
VPK through 2nd grade made all of our green paper chains that we used to create trees for the park!
A grandfather of one of our students (who is a retired chef from Chicago) gave a baking lesson with our upper grades. They baked blueberry, raspberry, chocolate chip, and banana muffins for the book fair event. Thank you to all of the families who also provided delicious pastries!
Saturday morning's Book Fair was so much fun! We had five scheduled story times, with a book read to the children and an activity that followed. The crafts were a hit in creating bookmarks, designing hats and crowns, and putting together journals and butterflies. If you missed this FREE event, look for it next year as it may become a fun annual tradition at Crown of Life Christian Academy!
